HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY
This maxim teaches us that if man maintains honest behavior in every walk of his ilfe, it will reveal his good character and sincerity and pays him honor and high status in the long run; through it does not show him any instant result. Honestly gives a man long- lived advantages.
Honesty is a natural instinct of a man. Sincere people are always honest. A person who does his work sincerely and he is true to himself is known as an honest person. So, honesty and sincerity are the two faces of the same coin. To be honest, one should be true to one’s word and action. One should stick on to one’s words and should act according to them. It may not fetch him good results on ready handed or pay him just after the acts but it succeeds in the end and pay him in the long run. Moreover, the man of such a character sets an example to the society. On the other had dishonesty yield short-lived advantages and sometimes snatches the satisfaction of mind, causing mental agony. A dishonest man is soon identified and loses the confidence of others and so in due course he will not considered a reliable man. But honesty is a part of character, which makes a man beloved of all and gives the guaranties of the character of that man. Good fortunes would come along his way.
Once, a poor young man was walking along the road, being vexed over his unemployment He found a purse on the road and picked it. He looked around and found no one there. He opened the purse and saw one thousand rupees and the owner’s address. Immediately the young man marched to owner’s house and handed over the purse to him. He came to know the owner was an industrialist. Pleased with his activity the owner praised him and gave a good job beside a cash prize.
So, every one should adopt the policy of being honest and sincere, as virtue will be rewarded.
